Best Host Picks exists for one reason: choosing a web host is unnecessarily hard, and most of the advice available online is written by people who are paid to say whatever converts.
We are trying to do the opposite. This site reviews and compares web hosting providers, and it earns money when readers buy hosting through our links. We think that model is fine as long as we are honest about it and honest in the reviews themselves. Our Affiliate Disclosure spells out exactly who pays us.
Why this site exists
Search for “best web hosting” and you will find hundreds of pages that all recommend the same handful of companies in roughly the same order, quoting a low introductory price and never mentioning what happens at renewal. Many of those pages have never had the product open in a browser.
The result is that people buy hosting based on a $2.95 headline price, then discover eighteen months later that they are paying four times that, their site is slow, and migrating away is painful. We would like fewer people to have that experience.
How we approach reviews
These are the rules we hold ourselves to. They are commitments, not marketing copy, and you are welcome to hold us to them.
- Renewal pricing is always stated. The introductory price is the smaller half of the story. Every review and comparison table on this site shows what you will actually pay when the first term ends.
- Drawbacks get published. Every host is a bad fit for someone. A review that lists only strengths is an advertisement wearing a review’s clothes.
- Rankings are not for sale. Commission rates vary between providers. They do not affect position in our comparisons, and no provider can pay for a better rating.
- We say what we do not know. If we have not tested something first-hand, we tell you it is based on the provider’s documentation or on reported user experience rather than implying experience we do not have.
- We correct mistakes. Hosting changes constantly: prices move, features get cut, support quality drifts. If something here is out of date or wrong, tell us and we will fix it and note the change.
You can read the detail on our How We Test page.

Who writes this
Best Host Picks is published under the name BHP. We are a small independent operation rather than a media company, which means fewer reviews than the large comparison sites publish, and more time spent on each one.
